efex expands in Queensland with the acquisition of Priority 1 IT

efex has acquired Priority 1 IT, strengthening its presence in Queensland and further deepening its healthcare and medical IT capability.

Established in 2013, Priority 1 has built a strong reputation for delivering dependable IT support to medical centres, healthcare practitioners and businesses across the Darling Downs and regional Queensland. Over time, the business has grown to support more than 600 companies across the region, underpinned by trusted customer relationships, strong technical capability and a well-established local footprint.

For efex, the acquisition is an important strategic step. It expands the company’s technical capability, strengthens its local delivery model in regional Queensland and enhances its ability to support customers with more complex technology needs. It also adds further depth to efex’s growing healthcare capability, with Priority 1 bringing a strong medical IT heritage and established healthcare customer base.

efex CEO Nick Sheehan said Priority 1 was a natural fit for the business. “Priority 1 is the market leader in the Darling Downs and anything west of Brisbane, which bulks up our technical capability and allows us to reach clients that require more complexity and local boots on the ground,” Mr Sheehan said.

“They have great clients, excellent staff, alignment on tech stack and operate in a region that we’ve long believed strongly in from a growth perspective. Importantly, they also strengthen our healthcare capability, which is an area we see as strategically important for efex.”

Priority 1 Founder and Director Jamie Patch said joining efex marked an exciting new chapter for the business, its customers and team.

“Priority 1 has always been focused on delivering dependable, high-quality technology support for businesses across our region, including healthcare providers. Joining efex gives our clients access to broader capability and deeper resources, while preserving the local service and trusted relationships that have been central to our success,” Mr Patch said.

The acquisition continues efex’s strategy of expanding through aligned managed services businesses that strengthen its geographic footprint, deepen sector capability and create greater value for customers. It also builds on efex’s growing presence in healthcare and medical IT.

As Priority 1 joins efex, customers can expect continued local support, backed by broader capability, deeper resources and an ongoing focus on helping organisations work more securely, productively and efficiently.
