efex acquires medical IT solutions provider Medihost Solutions

Today we announce the acquisition of specialist medical IT solutions provider Medihost Solutions, marking efex's fourth acquisition for the year.

Medihost was established in 2006 by Phillip Morgan to meet the specific needs of health and medical practices. In the decades since, with the rise of telehealth and remote services, the business has grown to 300 clients across private practice and allied health environments in Australia and New Zealand.

This acquisition significantly expands efex’s footprint and aligns with the strategy to target key verticals of Professional Services, Education, Healthcare, and Mining & Remote Services, providing a comprehensive set of managed services to midmarket businesses.

Since 2013, efex Founder and CEO, Nick Sheehan, has sought to grow the business by identifying and combining well run, client-orientated and innovative managed service providers across Australia. This has helped grow efex into a 7,000 customer base, 22 location national technology services specialist.

“We are pleased to announce the acquisition of Medihost, building our expertise across a critical vertical and further expanding the geographical footprint of our technologies and technicians across Australia and New Zealand. The investment mandate for our acquisition’s is simple, we find like-minded companies with a commitment to providing seamless and straightforward IT solutions.

“This is what differentiates us in a space that is often needlessly complex. We look forward to delivering enhanced value to our clients, ensuring that technology remains an enabler, not a hurdle, in their business operations,” said efex CEO and Founder, Nick Sheehan.

This year alone, efex has acquired the Adelaide based Aish IT in June, Canberra based Wyscom in September, and Geelong based Worldmark Corporate Consulting in October which added a total of 350 clients to the company. efex has continued it’s ‘buy and build’ strategy to grow its geographical presence, driving into South Australia and Canberra, and strengthening its customer-base into medical, financial services, government, and education sectors.

Medihost will continue to operate under its existing brand and will retain its existing team of specialists. Phillip Morgan will remain available in an advisory role to ensure a seamless transition and integration of the two businesses.
